The problem with DPF/FAP usually appears much faster than LED indicator lights up or the car switches to the emergency mode (the mode of engine operation with limited power).

The most frequent symptoms of incorrect operation of particle filter:

- the increase of engine oil (induced by too frequent procedure of filter after combustion and too high exhaust back pressure).

Caution: the oil increase indicates its thinning. It may lead even to engine seizure.
